The MMF focused on encouraging the Federal and State governments and legislature to initiate policies, strategies and programmes that include overseeing education, children’s rights, victim’s rights and policies to promote social welfare, wealth creation, economic empowerment, accountability and exemplary leadership as well as to raise the level of national discourse in the same areas.
The annual lecture has instituted to uphold the ideals of the late General Murtala Muhammed, a nationalist and Pan-Africanist. The lecture holds every February 13, the day that coincides with the demise of the late General.
The unique value in the MMF’s policy advocacy and dialogue program is in the quality of renowned personalities such as past and present leaders and distinguished international statesmen and women, including serving Presidents, former Presidents and Heads of States, Vice Presidents, Governors, Ministers, Heads of Armed Forces and other dignitaries from Nigeria and abroad that feature as Keynote Speakers and the level of attendance and policy engagement on national issues.
