Mrs. Aisha Muhammed-Oyebode

AISHA OYEBODE

Mrs. Aisha Muhammed-Oyebode is the Chief Executive Officer of the Murtala Muhammed Foundation. She is a development specialist, international NGO expert and human rights activist specializing in women and girls initiatives. She is a highly sought after advisor on social impact and corporate social responsibility with a deep expertise in Africa.

Oyebode founded and serves as CEO of the Murtala Muhammed Foundation (MMF), a non-governmental political advocacy organization dedicated to engendering socio economic change. On the Foundation’s platform are impactful stakeholders’ driven interventions and advocacy activities that have impacted education, capacity building and disaster risk management, particularly with the insurgency and terrorism in the northeastern part of Nigeria.

Partnering with the Cherie Blair Foundation, she encourages the mentorship of Nigerian women and also drives the process for the periodic exchange visits of delegation across Africa through the Enterprise Across Africa – Women in Development program, which serves as a platform to break down the barriers that women face in the bid to excel in their quest for excellence in business.

Oyebode is a co-convener of the ongoing Bring Back Our Girls Movement in the aftermath of the abduction of over 200 girls from their school premises in the Chibok village of Borno State, Nigeria.

She has an LLM in Public International Law from King’s College, University of London and an MBA in Finance from Imperial College, University of London. She is trained as a lawyer and is also a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
