The Murtala Muhammed Foundation (MMF) is to hold the 3rd Annual Women in Development – Enterprise Across Africa conference, starting Wednesday, July 18 to Thursday, July 19, 2018 in Lagos, Nigeria. The four (4) power-packed activities scheduled for the conference include, women entrepreneurship and career professionals training, exhibition, interactive dinner and the women power lunch.


The Women in Development – Enterprise Across Africa program is focused on achieving economic empowerment and self-reliance of women, while breaking barriers women faced in achieving excellence and gender equality. The event fosters inter-African trade and business opportunities between women in Nigeria and other African countries as well as enhance women participation in business and in governance.

The conference offers opportunities for capacity development, discussions and networking that foster high-impact measures to women empowerment and entrepreneurship development. There would be training for women and opportunity for exhibition on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 and the women power lunch on Thursday, July 19, 2018, where the Keynote speaker will deliver an inspiring and resourceful address to women. Business support services will be offered during the women training and exhibition sessions.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Her Excellency Ameenah Gurib-Fakimformer President of Republic of Mauritius (2015–2018). Prof. (Mrs.) Ameenah Gurib-Fakim is the first woman elected President of the Republic of Mauritius and an accomplished scientist, an entrepreneur and a sustainable development expert.

PARTICIPANTS: The conference will bring together inter- generational cross sections of women leaders, women professionals, women networks, entrepreneurs, industrialists, scientists, environmental conservationists, women in governance,donors, international development partners  and social change champions from diverse sectors of the economy to learn, discuss, interact, network and foster partnership for national and regional development.
